I'm a pilot for a small regional airline based in the Midwest, and a monthly columnist for Flying Magazine. I've been flying since 1994; my career has included stints as a flight instructor, "freight dog," and a First Officer on Q400 turboprops in the Pacific Northwest. I was hired at my current company in 2007, and am now a Captain on the airplane I lovingly refer to as "JungleBus."
This blog is mostly about what it's like to be a young pilot working his way up through the aviation hierarchy, but I also throw in stuff about other interests like travel, motorcycles, and flying small airplanes. I enjoy reading comments and answering questions from fellow aviators and non-pilots alike! If you enjoy what you read here, be sure to check out my "Taking Wing" column each month in Flying Magazine.
